TOP TUNE OF THE MOMENT:

DJ Jean: The Launch (AM:PM)

Undoubtably one of the best tunes of the year! This has a great banging but light trancy tune to it which makes you want to leap into the air and go crazy! The floors can't get enough. It's top with the likes of Jules...do I need to say any more except...BUY IT!

LAST TOP TUNE:

Yomanda: Synth & Strings (manifesto)

An absolute stonker! A fantastic combination between hard hitting synthesised stuff and light, happy, uplifting strings (hence the name synth & strings). This one just goes and goes and doesn't stop. You could play this all night and the crowd would not get tired of it! EXCELLENT!

OTHER TOP TUNES...

Veracocha: Carte Blanche (positiva)

My former top tune. This tune without a doubt will make my top 10 of 1999 unless there is a huge flood of stunning, stunning tunes because that is what this is. It's from Vincent de Moore and Ferry Corsten who have got it perfect! A great mix of bass and trancy vibes. This is a hugely uplifting and energetic track that really fills you with the need to break into a huge fit of dancing no matter where you are! It lifts you up and doesn't put you down! Great one!

Signum feat. Scott Mac: Coming on Strong (Tidy Trax)

Annother stormer from Signum! - the follow-up to 'What Ya Got 4 Me' with the same formula - big bass, cool vocal riffs and a great uplifting break. Head straight for the original mix on disc1. An altogether great tune!

Hyper Trophy: Pullover (Dos Or Die recordings)

This is the original Glasgow classic - remixed and re-released for 1999. It's the one with that siren type sample running through it that you just cant help loving. It also has a great beat to it. It goes down a treat on the dancefloors!

ATB: 9PM (till I come) (ministry of sound recordings/data)

The catchy, sexy riff through this track gets the crowd going (especially the ladies). The Signum remix is the best for in the club as it has a great beat and lots of that little riff. Fantastic!

Gouryella: Gouryella (CodeBlue)

Judge Jules hammers this one. This is a trancy, floaty track with a great bassline. It builds to a great floor filler. It fills the crowd with energy and they will dance all night to this. It's another one produced by Ferry Corsten, this time with DJ Tiesto. A top track!

Blank & Jones: Cream (deviant)

Another top trancy house tune with a great bassline. It has a floaty tune running through it a bit like 'Gouryella' (reviewed above). A simple but effective track from Germany. The best mix for me is the ATB remix - producers of '9PM (Till I Come)' (also reviewed above)

Travel: Bulgarian (Tidy Trax)

This tune is annother great trance-house tune! It sounds a bit like Blank & Jones 'Cream' (reviewed above) with a great beat. The tune running through it is one that lifts you up and forgets to put you back down! Head for the Signum remix on disc1.

Lost Witness: Happiness Happening (Ministry of Sound Recordings)

This has great vocals in it, the singers voice is angelic and very floaty - so is the tune. It has a strong bassline and hard hitting keyboards but is very uplifting and is another one that makes you want to get up and go nuts.

System F: Out of the Blue (essential recordings)

This has been kicking about since about at least October last year and finally got a UK release a couple of months ago. Its mix of uplifting keyboards and bangin' bass makes it a hit on dancefloors almost everywhere.

Camisra: Clap Your Hands (VC)

Another thumping tune from Tall Paul. The long awaited follow-up to 'Let Me Show You' and 'Feel The Beat'. It has a big bouncy bass line and is extremely dancefloor friendly and will fill them at the drop of a hat. It also has a few catchy samples running through it which stick in your head for ages!

OLDER REVIEWS:

Vengaboys: Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! (TIME Italy)

Another catchy one from the Vengaboys! This follow-up to 'We Like to Party' goes along the same style as their last two number 1 hits. It features happy, cheesy very catchy vocals and a happy, bouncy bassline. It's another one of those tunes that you won't be able to get out of your head all day. As for on the dancefloors - it tears them up! All the girls want to hear it again and again!

Phats & Small: Turn Around (multiply records)

Without a doubt this is one of the biggest tunes of the year. It tears up dancefloors everywhere and gets everyone singing to its catchy tune! Need I say any more?

Black & White Brothers: Put Your Hands Up (club tools / edel)

This is a top tune! Not many mainstream DJ's play this but it goes down a treat at the unders. Check out the 'DJ Tonka Full Version'. It really gets the crowd going. "Put you hands up in the air!"

Bad Habit Boys: Drop the Bass (club tools / edel)

Another top tune that hasn't been picked up by a lot of the top DJ's. It has a great pumpin' bassline that really gets the crowd going and a funky hard-hitting tune. It's been out for a while now but still makes it into my tunes of the moment.
